Support for Local Child's Cancer Appeal

3-year-old Sheppey resident Oliver Smith needs expensive surgery to remove malignant tumours. Academy students have rallied to the cause and dedicated time and effort to raise money for the appeal started by Oliver’s parents. Their work has been so successful that West Site Head Alan Klee was able to hand over a cheque for £2,000 to Oliver and his family in August. Oliver’s parents sent their heartfelt thanks to all staff and students whosupported the appeal.

Further backing came from Academy lead sponsors Dulwich College, where Rob Weaver and his tutor group also raised money for Oliver. Says Mr Klee: “I was pleased to meet Oliver in August. He has a lovely temperament and despite his difficulties he remains cheerful. I hope we can continue to support him in the coming year, and wish him the very best for the future.”
