Mr Alan Klee – West Site and Mr David Rahman – East Site
The Isle of Sheppey Academy is a new Academy for girls and boys aged 11-19. We are confident that we can provide a safe, happy, modern and inspiring learning environment for your child. The Isle of Sheppey Academy is based on two sites – East and West.
There are five Schools of Learning, three on the East Site (Abbey/Harty/Shurland) and two on the West Site (Brabazon/Sheerness). Each school contains approximately 500 students.
Over the next two years a major £54 million building and development programme will provide two brand new learning environments, each equipped with the most modern technology and taking advantage of the latest computer-based teaching and learning approaches.
When our new build is completed we will offer a 21st Century building equipped with the most up to date technology and resources that inspires learning in every student. The facilities will be amongst the best in the world creating a purposeful ethos of Business, Enterprise and Sport, which are our specialisms. Unrivalled facilities will include; media suite, drama facilities, dance studios, performance studio, sports halls, artificial G3 pitch, vocational centre (high specification design technology equipment and an ICT rich environment.
We aim to instill a culture of high expectation for every student, which underpins every development in each of the five schools. The core purpose of the Isle of Sheppey Academy is to ensure that every student achieves highly in a range of academic and vocational subjects, gaining examination success and a range of skills that will give them every opportunity to be successful citizens of the future.
The Academy offers a dynamic and personalised curriculum to meet the needs of all learners. In all, teachers and support staff aim to create a learning environment that is exciting and motivating for every student. Students are taught how to learn and expected to share in the responsibility for their learning, they are encouraged to think creatively and expected to complete schoolwork and homework to high standards. In all students and staff we will develop versatile skills and attitudes required of lifelong learning in a rapidly changing world. Our focus on the joint Specialisms of Enterprise and Sport will add a vocational dimension across the curriculum and compliment other subjects of the National Curriculum.
Our Academy will be an active part of the community. We have a strong commitment to seeking and valuing the views of parents and carers who are invited to join an active parent council to share in the development of the new Isle of Sheppey Academy. We believe by working together and listening to each other, we will secure the future of the Academy, as a beacon of excellence for girls and boys at the heart the community.
The Isle of Sheppey Academy is a confident and caring community that will equip your daughter or son for life in the 21st century. Students at the Isle of Sheppey Academy are given excellent opportunities to gain confidence as they grow into young adults.
