Moving Moments in Remembrance
Academy students and staff were much in evidence at the annual Remembrance Day service at the Sheerness Cenotaph. Students from all five schools and many year groups were present, with Shannon Eastoe representing the sixth form and Mr Day and Mr Barritt leading the staff turnout. In addition to those representing the Academy, an encouraging number of students appeared as members of other groups. The Sunday ceremony followed moving scenes at the Academy on the Friday, with both sites observing the two minutes’ silence and even on-site workers joining the paying of respects.
Themed assemblies were very effective and linked with productive lessons, which resulted in creative and thought provoking displays designed by students.
