Something's Cooking at the Academy

Year 9 students at the Isle of Sheppey Academy are embarking on an exciting food technology course! They will be following the Jamie’s Home Cooking Skills course will lead to Level 2 formal qualifications with the Edexcel examination board.

Pioneered by Jamie Oliver, the course hopes to teach students “to cook great food which looks amazing. Real food for real life”. 

In their first lesson, the students have been cooking a healthy version of the full-English breakfast; careful grilling was the order of the day.  The students then sat down to enjoy the fruits of their labours.

 Food technology Team Leader, Jane Washford, is delighted with the way the students have risen to the challenge with such enthusiasm.
