Christingle 2010
Abbey School students celebrated the end of term by visiting Minster Abbey for a traditional carol and Christingle service. Students made christingles during tutor time as part of their Christmas preparations and carried these to the Abbey to be lit as the choir sang Away in a Manger. The service was led by Reverend Arthur Houston who explained the significance of the Christingle oranges. Readings from senior prefects, Jack McCourt, Gemani Potton, Sasha Graham and Keiran Edwards explored the theme of light and looked forwards to the New Year.
Head of School, Jo Chester was delighted with the behaviour and attitude of the students at the service and hoped the visit would be the first of many by Academy students.
