A Golf Course of Learning

The Oast Golf Centre in Sittingbourne played host to eight Year 12s recently as they honed their skills as part of the Level 3 Sport and Exercise Science course.

Luke Phillips used the visit as an assignment involving the performance of an individual sport and awareness of technique and tactics. Says Luke: “The students had a session on the driving range, and then played 9 holes of pitch and putt on the course. They had a lot of fun - and they’ve come to appreciate nuances of the game that they would never have learnt through a textbook or from the internet. It was an enjoyable visit, but, more important, a valuable learning experience.”
